MIO Horizontal Lifeline Fall Protection System
MIO Horizontal Lifeline Fall Protection System (HLFPS)is designed for personnel working
on rooftops.
When a worker is attached to the HLFPS he will be able to traverse on the roof safely and freely.
If the distance (span) between anchor posts does not exceed 60ft, only two End Posts are needed for
the horizontal lifeline incorporated with a shock absorber (cable Unitensioner). When the distance
between anchor posts exceeds 60ft then intermediate supports are required. Some configuration of
the roof requires inside and outside corner anchor supports.
See detailed information below.
Single Span Horizontal Lifeline consists of:
- End Anchors Posts
- Carabiners
- Cable Unitensioner®
- Mobile attachment (Rollstar®)
- Stainless Steel Cable (5/16")
- End Termination
- Lanyard
- Full Body Harness

End Anchor Post

MIO Mechanical End Anchor Post anchor is based on MIO Fall Arrest
roof anchors. It is unique concept allows clamping the anchor to the existing
steel construction using high grade stainless steel jaws. End post has four
attachment points. The steel post felled with insulation and has flashing
sleeve that created insulation outside. Anchor is deep galvanized to prevent
corrosion. Meets OSHA, ANCI-IWCA 1-14.1 (3.9 Anchorages) and National standard
of Canada requirements.
Cable Unitensioner®
Cable Unitensioner® (patented product) incorporated in horizontal lifeline system in case of fall works
as a shock absorber. Also Unitensioner performs following functions:
- tightens the lifeline cable during installation,
- controls the tension on the lifeline,
- design of the unitensioner allows adjustments to the parameters of the tightening of the
cable lifeline and the shock absorber
Rollstar®
Patented worldwide Rollstar is a part of Horizontal Lifeline
System, providing the link between the worker’s safety harness and a standard
5/16” s/steel cable.
The Rollstar can pass freely through cable supports and
junctions, including corners and intermediate supports.
